Jessica Renard is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been working with clients for almost 5 years, primarily in a sex therapy capacity. She is a neurodiverse, pagan, geeky therapist who is often found in kinky and LGBTQIA spaces in Georgia. As a pagan, she also helps clients that struggle with church trauma and shame. She provides support and challenge to clients who feel stuck and are searching for who they are in their identity..
Jessica has a background in helping survivors of trauma both from their families or in their sexual past. Using books, podcasts, worksheets, and tv shows, Jessica meets clients where they are at, providing resources to help continue the work outside of sessions. She is a co-founder of PATH - Pagan Affirming Therapy and Healthcare which is a directory offering pagan affirming providers for those who wish to center or have that identity affirmed in their self-care work. She is the Professional Development Co-Chair of the LPCA of Georgia and is a member of AASECT. She is currently working on AASECT certification, ideally completing this by mid-2026. She has a masters in Clinical Mental Health from UWG, where she orchestrated the UWG Board Game Club as a graduate student.
As a therapist, I favor Feminist and Solution-focused therapeutic orientations, but take an integrative approach to make sure that interventions match the client. I love working with BDSM, Kink, Poly, LGBTQIA, and neurodivergent clients.
When I'm not therapist-ing, I am hanging out with my kid, going to conventions, playing board games, spending time with family and friends, going thrift shopping, or binging on TV shows (currently watching Gossip Girl and Dexter).
Jessica is able to bill IN-Network (through our billing partner Headway) to the following insurance plans:
Aetna
Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey
Quest Behavioral Health (partners with many plans under Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) mostly under large employers)
*Oscar (an independent, publicly traded health insurance focused on telemedicine)
*Optum (a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, which also owns UnitedHealthcare, but they operate as distinct parts)
*United Healthcare
Carelon Behavioral Health (administers mental health benefits for many insurance plans, including Medicaid, Medicare, private group plans, & large employers)
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of GA
Independence Blue Cross Pennsylvania
*These companies are pending approval for Jessica from our billing partner Headway - unfortunately we do not know how soon this will happen, but are happy to provide superbills until that occurs.
Like all of our providers, Jessica can also provide a receipt (often referred to as a "superbill") for private pay services. These receipts contain all the details you need to request reimbursement for OUT-of-NETWORK costs from your insurance provider.
If you are engaging with us for services for which we cannot bill insurance, or with a provider who cannot bill your insurance), this is the best way to work with your insurance company to get this covered.
Because of our small size and billing arrangements with Headway, StorieBrook CANNOT bill insurance for:
Assessments (including pre-surgical, gender affirming care, neurotype, or any other time limited services
Support groups (or any other non-therapy services)
Relationship therapy or counseling
