I believe in living intentionally through choice and growth.
Founder,
I am a passionate human in development, a teacher, and student in life. I believe in living intentionally through choice and growth. As an administrative professional I believe in providing a welcoming and accepting environment for my staff and clients as well as challenging the grind culture. Language and perspective are powerful tools helping to create such an environment. I love organization and clear frameworks that support the people at the heart of any work environment.
Education: I graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia with a Bachelor's Degree in English and Education. I continue to learn with informal research and courses taken through Kennesaw State University in Marietta, Georgia in feminist theory, storytelling, practical business applications, and sign language.
I opened WillowTree Virtual Assistants and became a Virtual Assistant/Professional in 2013 as an experiment in virtual work. Work can take many forms and I want to change the working environment to be intentionally supportive of talented dynamic individuals who hold identities of disability, living with invisible and/or chronic illness, and caretakers. I strive to support the autonomy of workers and to move away from an industrialized model of work and into a collaborative and supportive environment. My team and I work largely with clients whose values align with our own, especially with therapists who support sexual and relational minorities.
Prior to starting my own company I edited, published professionally, and volunteered in my personal community. I blend skills from all areas of my life as an English teacher, executive support staff, Domestic Goddess, home schooler, event coordinator, project manager, mime, proud band parent/roadie, and stage crew together with my deepest wish - to make my corner of the universe a little better.
In addition to being a Domestic Goddess and running WillowTree Virtual Assistants I teach in public and private settings on topics close to my heart. I am proud that I am constantly creating the world I want to live in.
Personal Interests: I am a wild woman following the joy I find in the small things. When I'm not sitting at my desk working or writing, I can be found with dirty feet out in my garden, reading in a sky chair, sewing, drawing, crafting stories, traveling with friends and heart family, indulging in photography, exploring in the kitchen or a new restaurant, reading/watching mysteries, updating my tiny home, reading queer fiction, doing projects to make my home fit our unique needs, advocating for the oxford comma, and reducing my footprint of plastic and carbon. I walk in the world through thick and thin with my family of the heart plus dogs, cats, and horses.
